Tour Plan

Day 1: Discovering Hoa Lu – Trang An – Hang Mua – The Majestic Beauty of Ninh Binh

In the morning, a vehicle will take you from Hanoi to Ninh Binh, a land renowned for its stunning natural landscapes and historic sites linked to Vietnamese dynasties. The first stop is Hoa Lu, once the capital of Dai Co Viet in the 10th century.

Here, you’ll visit the temples of King Dinh Tien Hoang and King Le Dai Hanh – two national heroes who achieved legendary victories. Surrounded by mountains, the ancient sites of Hoa Lu create a space that is both solemn and majestic, offering a deeper understanding of the nation’s proud history and cultural values.

Next, you will visit the Trang An Ecotourism Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Trang An is famous for its unique cave systems and limestone mountains that wind around the river.

You’ll embark on a boat journey through streams and caves, immersed in the breathtaking natural scenery. Small waterfalls, lush greenery, and the surrounding mountains form a magnificent natural painting, providing a serene escape from the hustle of daily life.

The day concludes with a visit to Hang Mua, a popular spot with a path of over 500 stone steps leading to the mountain’s peak.

Often referred to as the “Great Wall of Vietnam,” this is where you can view panoramic rice fields and winding rivers between Ninh Binh’s limestone mountains.

From the peak, the scenery unfolds with the green of the mountains, the golden fields in harvest season, and small boats moving along the river – a perfect spot for photos and soaking in the peaceful beauty of nature.

Day 2: Cuc Phuong National Park – A Rich Ecosystem and Conservation Site

On the second day, you’ll head to Cuc Phuong National Park, Vietnam’s first and largest nature reserve, spanning over 22,000 hectares. Cuc Phuong is known for its lush primeval forests, home to hundreds of ancient trees and rare wildlife.

Here, you will explore a diverse ecosystem, from thousand-year-old trees to endemic plant and animal species, many of which are listed in the Red Book of Vietnam and the world.

If you’re lucky enough to visit during butterfly season (from late April to late May), you’ll witness a spectacular sight of thousands of white butterflies fluttering through the forest. The forest seems draped in a soft, shimmering veil, creating a dreamlike and enchanting scene as if you’ve stepped into a fairyland.

This rare moment is a natural treasure of Cuc Phuong, only visible during this short period each year.

In your trekking journey through Cuc Phuong, you’ll be guided by experts into the depths of the lush forest, exploring green trails and admiring towering ancient trees and rare plants like black starwood, ironwood, and vibrant orchids.

You’ll have the chance to learn about rare animals and camp directly in the forest, immersing yourself in the quiet sounds of the night – crickets, rustling leaves, and the wind sweeping through the trees. Sitting by the campfire, you can enjoy a light meal and fully appreciate the mystical and untamed beauty of Cuc Phuong’s nature.

Additionally, you may visit Thac May, a pristine waterfall with cool, fresh water cascading down like a silver curtain amidst the green forest.

Here, you can immerse yourself in the tranquil, refreshing atmosphere of nature.

For adventure seekers, don’t miss the chance to paddleboard (SUP) on a lake in Cuc Phuong. With its still water and clear blue hue, SUP allows you to view the forest from a unique perspective – where trees and water merge to create a serene and beautiful natural landscape.

Standing in the middle of the lake, surrounded by forest, you’ll feel the vastness of nature and the smallness of humanity within it.

After exploring Cuc Phuong, you’ll return to Hanoi with wonderful memories. From the grandiose mountains of Ninh Binh to the fascinating experiences in Cuc Phuong’s forests, this journey offers relaxation and profound insights into Vietnam’s nature and culture.
